Challenge
Design an app that informs a consumer segment about brands who support living wages directly benefiting workers and their families.
Research
Current issues in fast fashion industry
Clean Clothes Campaign calculated that wages for garment production are rarely more than 3% of the final retail price of a garment.
Most of clothing companies have a lack of transparency on communities or factories where revenue is distributed.
Fast fashion is one of the highest polluting industries, aside from oil and gas. The toxic chemicals in these types of fabric also cause negative effects to the planet and threatens our oceans.

Living wages of
apparel workers.
Fast fashion is a popular and exploitative business model based on replicating high-fashion designs, mass-producing them at low cost. Oftentimes, this entails exploiting workers in inhumane conditions.
Problem define
1
Lack of transparent Information
Unreachable information about the impact of employment and manufacturing process of fashion brands
2
Not familiar with the concept and issues
Consumers are not fully aware of what fair trade is.
3
Need more attention from consumers
To make better supply chain, we need more participation from the consumers.
4
Vicious circle of consume practices
Mass production results in mass consumption which creates a vicious circle.

Takeaways
It was a great opportunity to broaden our perspectives not only as a designer but also as a consumer. I've learned how to make it value for users to spend their money on good brands by delivering a story of a brand. We also discovered that we should consider greenwashing that might convey a false impression of our app when using green colour.
Before moving on to the development phase, we need to validate our prototype with user tests to see what to improve based on new information we might discover. Moreover, based on the judges' feedback that it would be great if there was a notification feature for users' convenience, we will refine our design and iterate this process.
